Protecting and enhancing the milieu for present and future generations
The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is a protected environment and part of a worldwide network of marine conservation areas. Established as a result of a concerted effort by the governments of Canada and Québec, it is the first park in Québec to preserve and feature a marine environment. Local and regional stakeholders work closely together to manage the park.The objectives of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park are as follows:

conserve the marine ecosystems and cultural heritage of the site,

raise public awareness through educational activities and interpretation,

encourage scientific research,

enhance the cultural and natural resources of the site,

integrate site activities harmoniously into the regional community, and
